Caregiver Celestia

Caregiver Celestia is the first piece in a new series exploring solace and the enduring connections of childhood. A guardian of fragile, luminous memories, Celestia cherishes their human doll in a moment of quiet intimacy.
The creation of Celestia drew on past techniques and studies, including an earlier version where the glaze completely failed, as well as new elements. This is the first time I’ve incorporated fabric, but after experimenting with other materials for the doll, I realized it needed to be an actual cloth doll. This piece (and the two to follow) stands just at a foot tall.
